It is not enough to know your favourite colour, food, drink, and sex position. You need to know everything there is to know about yourself. Learn what drives you, what makes you happy, what kinds of people you are attracted to, and what is something that never fails to make you laugh.
You need to know those things so that you can be able to make decisions that are aligned with who you are and what you want. When you know yourself better, you will be able to create a better life for yourself. You’ll stop taking one-size-fits-all advice from people who do not know you.
And most importantly, you need to get to know yourself because you are someone worth getting to know.
Below are some journal prompts to help you on your journey towards self-discovery. I have grouped them according to your identity, values, emotions, relationships, fears, habits, dreams, personal growth, and future.

Please don’t attempt to complete all these journal prompts in one sitting because you will make getting to know yourself feel like a chore. And it’s not supposed to feel like that.
You can pick one prompt to answer every day, or you can do it once a week, or you can pull this list out when you are on a solo date. Write down your answers in a journal or say them out loud to yourself. It does not matter, as long as you are taking the time to get to know yourself.
